The problem stemmed from a weak weld line in the parison and an unsteady, off-center parison drop, leading to uneven wall thickness.
As a result:
- The L-ring drums failed top load and drop tests
- Unable to produce sale-able quality article
Solution:
IFC retrofitted the existing machinewith our spiral mandrel accumulator head, designed for:

Root Cause:
The core issue lay in the die head design of the machine, which failed to form a balanced, stable parison.

IFC replaced the faulty Chinese die head with our precision-engineered die head, ensuring:

Temporary Fix:
They were able to producethe 10 litre article in our 100-litre machine.
Solution:
They approached IFC to build a new 10-litre machine without a B&R controller. However, we supplied a machine with the same B&R PLC, and demonstrated that the problem lay elsewhere:
- Our machine processed 2 HLMI HDPE flawlessly
- Superior extruder and accumulator head design delivered the needed precision
